Leg One

I have managed to inch my way all the way down to Fairbanks and now I sit here nursing my sore body and feeding my face with anything I can find. It was a rollercoaster of a ride over the last 10 days; physically, emotionally and literally. I will be working through all of my pictures from this first part of my trip as well as working through my emotions. I hope to download all of that to this website in the next day or so. Let me just say that it was grueling, lonesome, beautiful, undulating, long and often painful. I will be sure to describe it in more detail shortly. Warning, the next post may not be for the faint of heart. Thanks for following along, and being patient as I made my way south over the last 10 days.

  1. awesome. i can’t wait to hear more. we’ve been thinking about you a lot and following you on the map. any wildlife encounters?

  2. Glad you’ve completed the first leg. Hope you continue to have safe journies. Good luck. We’ll be watching your trip.

  3. Yeah, yeah, yeah! We’ve been checking every night, and talking about the progress you were making and all that you must be experiencing. We cannot wait to read more. You have put a new face to the term “true grit” and I hope that along with the exhaustion you are feeling real pride.
